Tricannons were first made and used by Davy Jones on his ship, the Flying Dutchman, and where highly effective. After Will Turner became the captain of the ship, Lawrence Daggerpaine asked to examine the tricannons and recreate them, with the help of Daggerpaine Industries. He was able to recreate them, and they are now on every ship in the DI Fleet.
