The Port Royal Times is a newspaper operating in the East India Trading Company. The idea for the newspaper was created by First High-Lord Jeremiah Garland of the EITC on the 21st of Spetember, 1744. Currently, Garland is the sole writer of the newspaper, and more members are needed. We hope to have our first circulation released by the end of September or early October.

Goal[]

The goal of the Port Royal Times is to create a reliable source of information on current events. Upon entry, all members of the writing staff are sworn in to give the people the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Rather than having to go to several different pages to find out what is going on, the Port Royal Times will supply readers with a vast, in-depth knowledge of going-ons, in the EITC, in the Caribbean, and in the world.

Our main overall goal is to help you, the citizens, become easily informed of everything that is happening. Our writers vow to cover all topics in an un-biased manor.

How do We Differ from the EITC Lord?[]

I guarentee there will be at least one comment saying this is copying the idea of the EITC Lord Magazine. Well, in my defense:

  • The EITC Lord is a magazine, the Port Royal Times is a newspaper; therefore, we will focus more on news, and not contain as many extras such as "EITC Best Dressed".
  • It has been at least two months (maybe three) since the EITC Lord has released a new issue. All though writers John Breasly and Cad Bane claim a new issue will be released, we have yet to see this; therefore the Port Royal Times must supply news.
  • More in-depth news, and, rather than focusing on news within the British Empire and the EITC, the Port Royal Times will bring you news from all over the world.
