The Greater Empire of Sparkdottir, better known simply as Sparkdottir, is a stratocratic state with a monarch. By area, it is the largest on Earth and influences even further than its official boundaries. Presently, it is led by Empress Nikita I from the capital of Wolfsbourg. Sparkdottir's formation dates back ages in history, possibly making it one of the oldest living states in the world. Formed in 922 CE, the state of Sparkdottir was founded by Spark the Founder and began with just the province in which Wolfsburg is found. Over the next generation, he would conquest tribes and fiefdoms to expand Sparkdottir to its current borders.
For the entire history of Sparkdottir, it had been mostly left untouched by foreign conflict and almost unscathed by internal issues with the biggest of them being resolved peacefully and the most minute of them swiftly taken care of. Only until recently has it been involved in foreign affairs past trade agreements.
Due to the nature of Spark the Founder's philosophies that have carried down by every state leader since his time, Sparkdottir has gradually opened itself to trade and development of new technologies. "Have faith in tradition, but make room for the future."
The Orthodox faith is the only part of history of note in Sparkdottir. In Sparkdottir's formation, there were more humans than Faust at the time, with humans outnumbering them 3 to 1. The Orthodox faith slowly was adopted by human military leaders as early as 985 CE, and fostered it's growth among the population into human and Faust populations. By 1152 CE, the Sparkan Orthodox Church held a strong grip on the everyday lives of the Sparkan populace.
Sparkan society is very Matriarchal in nature due to the culture of the Faust blending with the culture of humans. Much of the military leadership with exception to Spark the Founder since the formation of Sparkdottir has been female. However, males and females are typically treated equally in the society.
