This page is about the Socialist Union from 1745-1756.

Freiland was founded by three leaders of a loose union of groups. Jack Daggerstealer (New Rostock Survivors), Charles Crestsilver (Co. Sons of Liberty), and Charlotte Swordhayes (Spanish Revolutionaries) on February 12, 1746, one year after the founding of the "West Indies Rebellion" (Caribbean Rebellion).

The Meeting of Jack Daggerstealer and Charles Crestsilver[]

"There is almost no miracle that could save us from the Swiss threat that fills this fort. I gave each and everyone of you the choice to leave, and I can proudly say not a single lad did. It's too late to give up now. Just take at least one extra of those Swiss devils with you. It's all I can ask." ~Jack Daggestealer, during a speech to his doomed men, December 1745.

Just around Christmas, when some Spanish and Dutch, French and English, Prussian and Portugese families were celebrating, 214 Rebels knew that they wouldn't survive. The Swiss wouldn't take no prisoner, and even if they did, it'd be better to die than suffer through their torture; it was well known what happened to Andeson and his men.

The approaching Swiss army began siege in the evening of December 24. A single cannon was used during the first hours of bombardment. Past midnight, a second, much larger cannon was also used. The men nick named the small cannon "Baby Jesus" and the large one "Santa". To say the least, the presents delivered weren't much appreciated.

On Christmas Day, celebrated by most of the men, not including Jack Daggerstealer himself, the Swiss brought in many more guns, and the number of those surrounding the fort had increased. The Rebel cannon on the North wall had been destroyed, and the wall wasn't doing much better. The next day, during the early morning, most of the Rebels woke to the sound of gunshots. Quickly, they discovered that someone was attacking the Swiss. Once the sun had risen, most of the Rebels joined them, and the Swiss were crushed, with only the General and a few dozen soldiers getting away.
