The Government of France as of March 21st, 1722, is an Enlightened Absolute Monarchy, meaning that the ruler has an absolute say over matters of the state, however, the Parliament of France, also known as the Estates General, does have significant influence in the decisions made by the monarch. The monarch rules with a moral code heavily based off of the ideas of the 18th century Enlightenment philosophical movement.
